My computer, using an AOpen AK 73(Pro)A motherboard and
Windows 2000 sp4 installed freezes up at random. The
problem seemed to appear after I increased the memory to
1GB. The mother is rated to support up to 1.5 GB so I am
not really sure that is relevant but so far it is all I
can come up with. Before the memory upgrade the pc crashed
occasionally but not with any real frequency. Now it
crashes all the time.

Did you keep the same RAM that you had and just added more? If so I would
suggest running a memory test application on it. Try doing a search on
google for MEMtest and try that. It may be your ram giving you these issues.
