Windows Folder Hidden

Fred

Some how the windows folder is now hidden. I am logged in
as an amin and it is still hidden. I can not un-check the
hidden box as it is greyed out. I have done everything I
can think of but nothing works. I have taken ownership
with another account, looked though the registry and a
bunch of other things and still it is hidden. Is there
something I could be missing?

Thanks

try control panel, folder options, click the view tab and
uncheck "hide protected operating system files"

or check show hidden files and folders

or do both :D

Why would un-checking the "hide protected operating
system files" have anything to do with this??? I have
that unchecked all that does is show the protected o/s
folders so I can see them. The windows folder is not a
protected o/s file or folder. Thanks for the answer but
it is not what I am looking for. I am looking for a fix
because this is not how it is suppose to be.

GOD I now feel so stupid. I am an old dos person. I
opened a CMD window and did a DIR on C:\ the windows
folder did show up. So I did a attrib windows and found
that it had the SH switch on it. I did attrib -s -h
c:\windows and it fixed the problem. Thank GOD dos
commands still work.
