Hey I Need Some Help.

I am also getting the same msg when trying to open Windows Firewall that
everyone else is getting which is 'Windows Firewall Settings Cannot Be
Displayed Because The Associated Service Is Not Running....'

I click yes and still it don't work.

I have tried absolutely every method that i have found on the internet:
Run the CMD and put in netsh winstock reset.
Took off other firewalls
gone to services.
you name it i have done it

there maybe just a problem with my security center because when i goto Start
- Cntrl Panel-Security Centre

Underneath Security Essentials it says ' The Security Centre is currently
unavailable because the service has not been started, or stopped

I really need help with this someone guys. thanks and very much appreciated

While you were in 'Services' did you check to make sure 'Security
Center' was set to 'Automatic'? You can start it there also, if you
haven't already tried.

To start your Security Center.......If you are using WinXP SP2

Try going to Start>Programs>adminstrative tools>Services

Then scroll down and find Security Center and see if it is set to Automatic.
If not right click it, go to properties and set it to Automatic. Then in the
left hand column RESTART it. Also may want to on the properties screen set
the recovery tab to restart if failure to start.

I too cannot get my windows firewall to restart.

I have tried what u put down to restart security center but when i click on
start ( to start the service) i get error 1058: 'The Service Cannot Be
Started, either because it is disabled, or because it has no enabled devices
associated with it'

please help me cheers!

It seems like there might be a problem with these services starting.
Try opening a command prompt and typing "net start wscsvc" without the
quotes. Do you get an error message?

i tried the command 'net start wscsvc' and i still get the same error msg
mate.

also webbie i have put it onto automatic, but once i click apply and then ok
it goes back to disabled.
