Windows Firewall setup for Broadband connection (Settings)

Hi all.
How do I keep "File and Printer Sharing" from being excepted in Windows
Firewall? I want to create a clear separation between my broadband
connection (cable internet) and my LAN connection on my XP-SP2 Home computer
(2 NICs). I keep deselecting "File and Printer Sharing" for the Broadband
NIC but it keeps resetting on restart. I only want to share the internet
connection through this port. ICS is set up and running fine. I do not want
to create access to files on the computer through the internet.
The LAN NIC is set for "File and Printer Sharing" and all works fine. I
suspect that the solution lies in the Network connection settings.
Under the Broadband properties (Network Connections> Broadband Adapter>
Properties>) I have selected: "Client for MS Networks" and "TCP/IP". I
suspect that I need to deselect "Client for MS Networks" in order to
deselect the "File and Printer Sharing" exception. Correct?
Continuing in Broadband Properties to Windows Firewall> Settings>
Exceptions> if I deselect "File and Printer Sharing" it will come up
re-selected upon restart. Is there another way to keep this exception not
selected?

I am under the belief that once configured this will separate my computers
from the internet. Kidding myself?
TIA

Hey thanks Peter. That got me my answer: Only TCP/IP should be bound to the
cable modem adapter.

Now on the Windows Firewall issue I think I'm just chasing my tail. I never
had "File and Print Sharing" enabled on the broadband NIC. I believe that
the Windows Firewall setting mean that IF "File and Print Sharing" is
enabled on a network connection THEN it will be excepted. It has nothing to
do with WHETHER "File and Print Sharing" is enabled for that connection.

All in all, I got my answers. Thanks.
