Windows Firewall Reminders Are Annoying

I keep telling Windows XP SP2 that I will monitor the
firewall myself, thereby supposedly putting it on notice
that I don't want to continually reminded like a bratty
little brother that my firewall is turned off. I know
it's turned off. I did it myself. I'm wondering what
programming genius thought (s)he knew better than I do
what I do and don't want to do with my firewall. Enough
already. Leave me alone!

Any suggestions?

Are you saying the Alerts Settings \ Firewall checkbox is unchecked and you
still get a notice?

I'm having the same problem. I tell it NOT to monitor since I turned it off
and I use a hardware firewall. It will alert me again after EVERY reboot.
I'm still trying to get my network back up as well....seems like after a
reboot or 2, I lose the ability to speak to the other computers on my net.

I don't have any suggestions but I think it's the same
programming genius that thinks I want a sign telling me
I've sent something to the printer. I know. I did it.
