When i turn on my P.C it says windows cannot load because the following file
is missing or corrupt Windows/system32/config/systems. I have tried to
restore it by pushing F11 and tried a partial recovery and that gives me the
same message. I have not tried a full re-installment as i do not want to
loose all my data. Is there a way around this so i can keep my data. Maybe
something through DOS or if i copy and paste the file that is missing? I have
a packard bell.

Thanks

This can be a sign of a hard drive issue.
You should get a utility like erd commander or use the repair function with
a startup disc. You need to run check disk and repair the errors.

As a last resort, if you are unable to get windows to boot, you can download
a copy of the live linux distro Knoppix. You can use that to copy all your
data off your windows hard drive on to cd-rw et al. That will save your data
if you need to perform a clean install.
