Windows File Protection (WFP)

A dialog box pops up and reads as follows: "Files that are
required for Windows to run properly have been replaced by
unrecognized versions. To maintain system stability,
Windows must restore the original versions of these
files."

" Insert your now.

Retry More Information Cancel"

What I have already tryed: 1) I've tryed to insert my
Windows XP Professionial CD. Then it says "The CD you
provided is the wrong CD. Please insert the into your CD-
ROM drive." But that's the problem it is the right CD. So
if anyone can help me with my problem it would be
extreamly greatly appreciated. Thanx

it is probably the wrong cd because you have got the original cd and you may
need to use one with the service pack on. you can create a windows xp
service pack cd by integrating your current cd files with the service pack
files onto one cd. the process is known as slipstreaming.

once you've got your cd you can run sfc.
