How would I go about fixing a corrupt file (such as
a .dll file), which prevents Windows from starting up? I
can't remember the error message exactly, but It says
something like; the file must be repaired/replaced.

Thanks in advance.

Find out what the file is.
Use the recovery console to extract the file from the XP cd
and copy it to it's proper location.
