For whatever unknown reason, "My Computer" clicks open by itself whenever I
log on to my profile in Windows XP Home. Internet explorer also starts up by
itself. To make matters worse, System restore has been disabled. I can not
restore to a previous point because my administrator rights have been
magically removed due to a group policy????

Solutions?

Read what MVP Kelly Theriot has to say about this by going to her site
here:

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm

and clicking on "M". Now scroll down to the My Computer Opens On Boot
issue. Please note that this can be caused by a virus, so you should do
a scan in Safe Mode with a full-featured antivirus (version no earlier
than 2003) using updated definitions.
