I am totally unable to use windows explorer due to the following error
message i get every time i open explorer. I have run spyware, trojan hunters,
mal ware, until im blue in the face with no resilts. someone please
help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
message reads as follows: explorer.exe application error "the instruction at
"0x03a1415b" referenced at "0x00000000". The memory could not be written.
Since this has started ( about a month ago I cannot move files, delete files
look at files, or do anything that requires the handling of any kind of
file). I have three hard drives and am running widows XP with sp2 and all the
latest upgrades.

Aside from running multiple AV Suites,Hijackthis,Spybot,CWShredder,AdAware in SAFE Mode do you have Adobe version 7.00 installed? Try to uninstall it and reboot and see if the issue will stop. If it does then reinstall Adobe version 7.03

removing adobe reader 7.0.3 had no affect. The problem still exists. Thanks
anyway . it was a good try.

You need to perform some troubleshooting steps to try and locate exactly where the problem is coming from.

Check the Event Viewer for possible information. Go to start/Run and type eventvwr.msc and press OK. Click the Application menu item on the left and look for any "X" error messages that coincide with when you last saw this error message. If any are found, double click the error entry to see the details, click the Copy Icon on the details dialog screen and paste the error details in a reply to this message.

Go to Start/Run and type msinfo32 and press OK. Click Components/Problem Devices to check for possible hardware problems.
