When right click Start and then click explore, a window opens that shows the
below path. I would prefer have some other path opened. How can this be
accomplished?

Appreciate the help

Here's what I get:
C:\Users\My Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu

Here's what I prefer:
Desktop

What were you expecting?

If you right click the Start Menu and click Explore, of course you will go
to where the files on the Start Menu are located.

If you want to create a link to the Desktop folder, go to Start and type
shell:desktop in the search Bar and press Enter. This will take you to the
default Desktop folder. Note the location of this folder in the Address Bar
and create a shortcut to this location. You can place this shortcut in a
handy location or simply pin it to the Start Menu.

Click the Start Orb, and type:
%userprofile%
In the right pane, rightclick the "Desktop" folder, and choose "Create
Shortcut"
Scroll down to the new shortcut, and Drag it onto the start orb.
Click start, and then the Desktop shortcut.
