Windows Explorer problem

For no apparent reason I am unable to get access to Windows Explorer. This
occured overnight without any input from me.
Using either Windows E, or the My Computer Icon a My Computer box appears in
the task bar and thats it. The Explorer window does not open.
Can someone tell me if this is repairable with a re-format as I cannot get
access to the hard drives.
Regards Marion.

Hi!

I suggest you try system restore. I also had same problem, probably due
to using a registry cleaner, but maybe for some other reason also.

You can try opening files from Internet Explorer. Give the address as
C: and see if it helps. When my Internet Explorer went down, I had to
use the Windows Explorer to download the IE7 from the net and install
it. Wonder if it will work the other way round too; i.e. IE for Windows
Explorer?

You should be able to access to your hard drive through Start -> Run
.... -> type CMD and press enter.
