A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double click

resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event Viewer. Now
start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of the message. This
will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report complete with links
into the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from Event
Viewer.

I found the event viewer, but I can't nail down which "event" is the
malfunction I'm talking about. I do know that the oldest of the screenshots
was made at 9:30A on 7 FEB, so here's info from the previous 40 minuites.

9:24:05 AM, source is Service Control Manager, event 7036, description "The
Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service entered the running state"

9:24:05 AM, source is Service Control Manager, event 7035, description "The
Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service was successfully sent a start
control."

8:52:34 AM source is Service Control Manager, event 7036, description "The
Windows Installer service entered the stopped state"

8:47:55 AM, source is Windows File Protection, event 64002, description
"File replacement was attempted on the protected system file kbdclass.sys.
This file was restored to the original version to maintain system stability.
The file version of the system file is 5.1.2600.0."

8:47:48 AM, source is Windows File Protection, event 64002, description
"File replacement was attempted on the protected system file i8042prt.sys.
This file was restored to the original version to maintain system stability.
The file version of the system file is 5.1.2600.0."

I probably shound have mentioned this sooner, but the malfunction happens
when I try to go from folder A to folder B. The latest case occured Wendsday
evening (can't remember what time so I don't know which event is the right
one) when I tried to use My Favorites to go from a folder on my USB external
HD to a folder on my digital camera to retrieve some photos. When I tried
navigating by clicking the UP button until I was in My Computer and then
clicking on icons to get to the photos, it worked fine no problem. The error
vanishes when I close all Windows Explorer windows, but I'd rather it didn't
happen to start with.

What version of Windows XP do you have? Have you installed the Windows
XP SP2 update?
