Windows Explorer Not Reusing Window...

Jesse

I cannot get Windows Explorer to reuse the same window
when opening another folder. It keeps opening a new
folder.

The folder options are set to reuse the window.

I've been looking at the File Type options, it seems I
could set an action to re-use the window, but I don't know
how to do it.

Can someone please help me.

Jesse, in Windows Explorer go to Tools>Folder Options Select Open
each folder in the same window. Then click
on Apply Ok.

I very much appreciate your help, but my Windows Explorer
Tools>Folder Options is set to open each folder in the
same window. That of course is my problem. :)

The folder options are set to reuse the window.

If you start from the Explorer view (with tree to the left) and open a
window by double clicking an icon in the right pane, this is seen as
wanting that launched separately in its own 'My Computer' style window
(and double clicking in that should replace with the next level).

If you want just the single window with tree and a right pane, control
that pane by selecting in the tree instead, expanding that (by clicking
its + boxes) and highlighting the folder you want to see
