Windows Explorer-Destination Confirmation.

R

When I wish to copy a file via Explorer,
I click on the subject file, which turns blue
then move this file to the destination folder, which also turns blue.
When I take my finger off the mouse button
to select "copy" the destination folder goes back to normal
and I have no confidence the file will be moved
to the correct folder, many times it has not, and ended
up in an adjacent folder.
Any fixes? advice?

A copy to a visibly adjacent folder usually means user error. Adjusting the
video resolutiion may aid in targeting the intended folder for copying.
Moving is not the same as copying. There's more than one button on a mouse,
make use of the RH button as well to save movement. The shift and ctrl key
come in handy when copying multiple files.

Press/hold down the CTRL key and left click on each folder and/or file you
want to copy.
This will highlight the folders and/or files to be copied.
Either press CTRL+C to copy the folders and or files to the clipboard, or
right click on one of the highlighted folders and/or files and click Copy in
the popup menu.

Right click on the folder you want to copy the folders and/or files into
and click Paste in the popup menu.

Thanks Dave,
Video resolution is not an option, but I take your point.
It sure is user error, but exacerbated by the failure of the software
to "lock on" to the destination folder. (via right click)
For many years I have used ACDSee as my "windows explorer"
because it does "lock on" (the destination remains highlighted)
and I can be assured of an accurate transfer.
I will continue to use ACDSee, I just wondered if I may have missed
something.
I transfer copious images daily.

I'll also practice with shift and ctrl
Thanks again.

Thanks Brian,
Yes that works, but (groan) it's like pulling teeth.
Nothing can beat the [right click] shift across the panes
and [copy].
Looks like my "wish list" doesn't exist, however
thanks for addressing my query.

I can have up to 300 images a day, and I have to
place them in any one of 1300 folders, hence my search
for a solution.
