Windows doesn't retain "Show window contents when dragging" setting

Any idea why XP Pro doesn't "remember" the fact that I
checked the "show window contents when dragging" checkbox
in the appearance tab | effects dialog of the display
properties window? I've never seemed to have this problem
before with other XP Pro installations on other machines.
I'm logged in as Administrator, so I don't think it's a
rights issue. Checking the box gives the desired results
when applying the change, but XP doesn't "remember" the
fact that the option was checked when I log off and log
back in again (i.e., it is reset to unchecked).

Noland,

If you have a Dell PC, then the problem is due to "Dell User Experience" utility / software. Check with Dell Technical Support to sort out this problem.

If not, see: Windows XP Doesn't Save User Settings
