Windows does NOT Start, .... HELP!

Hi All:
Windows XP does not start despite repeated attempts
trying to start, .... saying the following message on the
top of the Blank Screen.

"Windows could not start because the following file is
missing or Corrupt:
Windows/System32/Config./System

Your HELP would be GREATLY and truly appreciated.

See if you can get the system into SAFE mode (hitting F8
during the startup). You may be able to troubleshoot from
there. Have you installed anything recently that might
have effected the system? Check your recovery and see if
you can revert to an earlier time when it was working.
Worked on an XP laptop one of my users had installed CD
Creator on.

Hi John Harris:
Thanks for your suggestion/advice on this, ... but still
there is a BIG TROUBLE not able to start 'Windows"
although I could access to 'Safe Mode' by hitting 'F8.'
After hitting all menues, but there is no way to start
Windows XP, ... but keep doing same thing over and over
again. Nothing happened!

I would be truly appreciated it if you could offer more
imput/tools on this problem, because I really
need 'Windows XP' right now.
