windows display problem

I am using Windows Xp professional sp1. The graphic card is nvidia 5800SE, and use nvidia driver 56.72 which is the latest version. I try to play games from real arcade, but after I run the game, and the screen is all black and says "OUT OF RANGE", and there is only sounds. I play WarCraft III, and every thing is fine. The seting is 1024x768, both antialiasing setting & anisotropic filtering are off. What is wrong? How can I fix it?

out of range means that the REFRESH RATE you are trying to display for the
given resolution is bigger than your monitor is capable of.
The message is produced by circuits of your MONITOR and not from xp, to
protect the monitor from working out of its range.
Reduce the refresh rate or resolution of the game or whatever you are trying
to do.

This message has to do with your monitor screen refresh rate. Make the
proper adjustments via Desktop Properties.
