Windows Defender

I am using Spybot Sd and Ad-Aware to keep my computer free from spyware.

Would I benefit further if I installed Windows Defender?

Windows Defender is now a free program. I heard it mentioned that MS will
eventually charge for updates. Correct?

Note that these products cannot keep your computer free from spyware.
Only "Brain 1.0" and *maybe* smart tools like "SpywareBlaster" can do
this.

If you do not use administrative accounts while surfing the internet and
as long as you do not believe in free meals, you are well protected.
However, running the "Windows Defender" in the background does not harm.

Since what you heard did not separate the program updates from signature
updates, it cannot be too reliable. Any official source on hand?

I haven't heard anything about MS charging for Windows Defender
updates. And yes, it certainly would be beneficial to install it.
Defender uses very little resources and continuously monitors your
system in the background.

No one program catches all nasties, so using Windows Defender in combination
with the others has merit. Windows Defender runs in memory, normally Spybot
and Adaware do not. I have not heard about MS charging for Defender
updates. Where did you hear this.
