Windows Defender automatic updates

Definition Update 1.13.1282.6 for Beta Windows Defender. That this update is
being repeated time after time, seemingly without end. I had a similar
occurence the other day and only got round it by removing Defender and
reinstalling it. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

you only have to do a search of the newsgroups to find out that lots of
people have had problems with windows defender updates, and as someone in a
previous post said "ITS BETA" that means its not the finished version, if you
dont want problems then i suggest you uninstall and wait for the finished
product.

With a good AV scanner and firewall installed, on a known virus free system,
the only other protection really needed... (in my opinion)

Tried MS Beta version (Defender), it seemed ok (then), removed it at the end
of last year, really don't miss it.. If it's becoming a hassle (now), then
just lose it..
It really comes down to what works for you, and what you feel comfortable
with running on your system..
