Windows Critical Update

I am trying to get a Windows Critical Update. When I get
to this page, it's supposed to check for available updates
for my machine. Instead it does nothing and then IE
crashes.

Suggestions?

http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com ]. In the left pane there is a "help and
support" link. From there navigate to the troubleshooter. Hopefully it will
help you to figure out what is happening.
