I recently used Norton Ghost to copy my main drive to a backup drive.
Shortly after doing this I was attached by spyware attached to a
download. It ws so severe that I decided to format the main drive and
then restore the drive using teh Norton Ghost copy hard disk tool. I
started up using the backup drive and with norton ghost copied the
backup disk to the cleanly formated disk. Norten reported that the
disk was copied sucessfully and set to active as a boot disk. I then
disconnected teh backup drive and attempted to start up from the main
Sata hard drive. Startup seemed to go fine until I hit the blue
windows login screen. Normally my user id appears and I click on it to
load my user settings, but in this case the user ID failed to appear
and the system seems to have crashed. What could be causing this and
what can I do???
