windows commands not working

when i am trying to execute commands such as
ping,ipconfig,netstat,tracert etc..
on the windows command shell it shows a message the above commands not
recoganized
as internal or external command,operable program or batch file
but commands like dir,time etc are working.

i don't know what is the problem


please help
