Windows Color only displaying in lowest...

Windows color is only displaying in lowest 2 bit colors. This only happened
after I reinstalled Windows xp pro b/c I had to reset the administrator
password that was changed. Once I finished loading and installing XP pro the
colors were that of a watermark picture and not in its normal 16 bit color
format. I don't know how to get it to change to 16 bit color from 2 bit.

That's certainly over-kill. There are much easier ways to rectify such
a situation.

What happens when you install the most recent WinXP-specific video
drivers, as provided by your video adapter's manufacturer's web site?

Have you reinstalled the drivers for your motherboard, video card, sound
card etc?
