windows CD not working

whenever i try install the installation stops in the progress and message
appears that file is missing or put windows xp cd and give three options.

skip, retry, and cancel.

if i press retry it retries but stops the installation and says for shutdown.

i think the cd is not working anymore.

what should i do for that.

Replace the drive?

google and look for cdcheck. Its free and will check the readability
of the CD Rom and all the files on the CD.

Clean the cd with a soft, dry cloth and try again.
