Windows cannot open the local policy database

We have a Win2k DC, and when I go into my Local Security Policy in
Administrative Tools, I cannot view any policies. It says:

"Windows cannot open the local policy database.

An unknown error occured when attempting to open the database."

please help,

Hi Paul,

Usually that kind of error happens when secedit.sdb are corrupted
To verify and repair secedit.sdb you should use ESENTUTL tool.
