Windows Cannot Find Program.exe

I'm running Windows NT 4.0 workstation on my computer, and I use MS Office 2000 for e-mails. Any time I click on a web link in an e-mail I get the error message "Windows Cannot Find Program.exe. I've read the Knowledge Base articles # 172720 and 814834, but they didn't help. I've had Netscape on the system, but have removed it.

Hi Donald H. :)
I'm running Windows NT 4.0 workstation on my computer, and I use MS
Office 2000 for e-mails. Any time I click on a web link in an e-mail
I get the error message "Windows Cannot Find Program.exe. I've read
the Knowledge Base articles # 172720 and 814834, but they didn't
help. I've had Netscape on the system, but have removed it.

Check the following settings and see if they are correct.

Open IE | Tools | Internet Options | Programs
Check the E-mails window and see what is listed as your E-mail program.
Also, check the HTML Editor and see what program is listed in the window. If
the settings are not as you like, click the arrow and select the settings
you prefer, then click OK.
Close IE, then open again and see if that helps.

Hope this helps.

Jan :)

Hi Donald :)
The e-mail program is Microsoft Outlook, and the HTML Editor is
UltraEdit 32. These are as they should be.

Try the following information and see if anything there will help.

Cannot Find Program.exe Needed for Opening Files
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...port/kb/articles/q191/2/19.asp&NoWebContent=1

"Windows Cannot Find Program.exe" Error Accessing Web Page
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...port/kb/articles/q189/5/83.asp&NoWebContent=1

Also, try the following:

Select START/RUN, in the 'Open' box type SFC (System File Checker) and press
enter. Follow the prompts and have your Windows install CD handy.

Hope this helps.

Jan :)
