Hi!

I have the following strange problem. All of a sudden executablr with
some specific name (lets say Myfile.exe) can't be run by Windows XP.
After double-click in explorer I get "Windows cannot find
'c:\temp\MyFile.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly and then
try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click
Search" error.

More details:
1. The problem is system wide (I can't run the file with this name even
from USB disk).
2. Renaming the file solves the problem (MyFile_.exe works Ok).
3. I assume that this happen as a result of running Micorosft
Application Verifier with this exe. I uninstalled Micorosft Application
Verifier, but the problem persisted.
4. I made a search in registry for "Myfile.exe", but nothing was found.

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

I doubt that c:\temp even exists.
Type c:\temp in the Start | Run box, click OK and see what happens.

I think you don't quit understood me:
My exe file is an executable of my program, which I comilled and
linked. I succesfully run it before. But now, I copy my exe file to any
disk location, but I am getting "Windows cannot file file.." error. I
can see this file in Explorer, in "dir" of cmd etc. It exists. I can
copy it to another computer and run it. No problem. In my opinion
something in Windows Loader says, that the file with this name can't
exist or smth like that.
Just to clerify: nothing wrong happen to my file. To verify this I just
renamed regedit.exe to Myfile.exe. I would expect, that when I run now
MyFile.exe I would get actually regedit. But I am still getting
"Windows cannot file file.." error.
