Windows cannot access the registry information

Shane

I am getting these two errors in the Event Viewer- Application Log:

Windows cannot access the registry information at
\\MyDomain\sysvol\Mydomain\Policies\{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\Machine\registry.pol
with (53).

Windows cannot access the registry information at
\\Mydomain\SysVol\Mydomain\Policies\{F3E4134C-82AC-4CFF-A86F-DEF374750726}\User\registry.pol
with (53).

They started showing up when I reset some disk permissions. I removed
the everyone group. After this problem and others that I have already
solved. I added back the everyone group. I am still having trouble
getting my group policy to work. I have reset permissions on all
child objects. All folders have the correct securtiy. I am running
most all services on LocalSystem except some that have to run on
another account.

I think it is a registry permission that needs to be set but I don't
know where to set Active Directory registry permissions. I have
looked all over Microsoft's Knowledge Base and Google group. I have
not seen any solution to my problem.

This is a Windows 2000 Server SP4 machine.

Again this is happened directly after changing security permissions on
my drives.

Please help!

See if you can open the location using the Start Menu Run and type in
\\MyDomain\sysvol\Mydomain\Policies\{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\M
achine If this opens then check the permissions on the winnt\sysvol and down

I tried and got:
---------------------------
\\MyDomain\sysvol\MyDomain\Policies\{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\Machine\registry.pol
---------------------------
Cannot find the file
'\\MyDomain\sysvol\MyDomain\Policies\{31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9}\Machine\registry.pol'
(or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are
correct and that all required libraries are available.

The proper permissions are set:

Domain Admins
Everyone

The 1231 maps to "the network location cannot be reached".

If you have a wins server, please verify that you do not have any corrupt
entries.

We have a dependency on Group Policy Processing for the service TCP/IP
NetBIOS helper service, please make sure this service is enabled.
