Windows Backup - does it work?

Hello,

I set up Windows Backup to incrementally back up files at 2:30am every
morning. It hasn't worked 3 days in a row (no back up at all). As far as I
can tell I have all the settings properly done and I'm not sure what other
information to provide (running XP Pro). The only thing I can think is that
I have not yet used the software to back up any of my files and I do have it
on incremental backup. Am I supposed to make an original full backup first
before using incremental?

Thanks.

You need to examine the various log files for the time slot
around 2:30 am:
- The Event Viewer
- The Task Scheduler log file
- The backup log file.

They will tell you exactly what's happened.

There is nothing in any of the log files.

Let's have a look at your command line!

Since you think that it does not generate any log files,
there must be something fundamentally wrong with.
Executing it directly from a Command Prompt will
tell you the problem.
