windows aero is missing

i have got vista home premium , my specs are ok, my index rating is 4.0, but
aero is not anywhere to be found where can i find it ? or look for it?
 
Right click on desktop, personalize, Windows color and appearance, Open
classic appearance properties, choose Windows aero and Apply, OK. If you
don't have a video card with at least 128 memory, it will revert to Windows
Basic.
 
On my computer, there is no "aero" choice, it's something like "transparent"
or along those lines... confused me for some time because I kept looking
specifically for "aero"...

Not true. Well, not totally true. I have Aero running in Ultimate RTM on a
seat with 512MB RAM and 64MB video RAM. A couple of reg hacks and it's
there.
