Windows Activation Trouble

I installed additional RAM into my computer and was prompted by Windows that
I had 3 days until activation. Assuming that when I clicked on the item in
the task bar it would begin the process, I clicked and nothing happened. The
three days expired and my computer has locked me out stating that I cannot
sign into it until I activate the product. It then prompts me with "Do you
want to activate windows?" I click Yes, it then restarts the computer
bringing me back to the "You cannot sign in until you activate windows."

I can't get help from Microsoft without a PID. I can't get my PID without
logging in. I can't log in without activating Windows. I can't activate
Windows without some help from Microsoft! See my problem?

Any suggestion would be helpful. I'm currently running a linux type program
to access ANYTHING on my computer.

It should not reboot when you choose to activate Windows. You have
some other problem that is causing the reboot.

When you select the activate Windows you should get an option of
either activating via the Internet or by telephone. The telephone
option should give you a list of free phone numbers for your area.

Try bringing up the Windows XP Startup Menu and choose the option to
start in Safe Mode. That may get around the rebooting problem and
allow you to get through to the telephone activation screens.

Good luck

obtainedor used. I chose home office.when I should have picked dealer. Now I
am locked in the same vicious cycle you outline. I have been unable to obtain
any help from microsoft. Haveyou had any success in activating your system? I
would appreciate any help that would point me in the right direction.
