Windows Activation Loop

I was told to Reformat my hard drive because of viruses/spyware/adware. Works
Great now only one problem. I start my computer and it logs on but windows
activation comes up says 30 days,29 days, etc. to activate. I click on the
icon and it pops up. says windows is already activated. when the time runs
out I assume that i wont be able to use this computer any more or just keep
reformating every month? I don't want to do that. If anyone can please help?
I have the box and contents w/product key and all. I dont want to buy this
product twice. I dont understand how this can happen all I know is I have
Windows 3.1,Windows 95,Windows 98SE, Windows Me, And also Just Bought Windows
Xp Home SP1 about 8 months ago...And I think xp Is the the most unstable.
Have never had this problem with any other OS. Thanks in advance for any
help!
