Windows activation code

Hi:

I just copied my Windows XP Pro install from a smaller to a larger HD. Now,
when I logon, I get a "Windows product activation" message saying "a problem
is preventing windows from accurately checking the license of this computer.
Error code: 0x80090006". Any way around this?

Thanks.

Bit late?

Before you reinstall, locate the WPA.DBL file in the Windows\System32 folder
and copy it to a floppy or other media.

After you reinstall, but before you reactivate, boot the computer to a
minimum safe mode (no network connections and the like). Locate the new
WPA.DBL file and rename it to WPA.DBL.OLD
Copy the old WPA.DBL file back to the Windows\System32 folder and reboot the
computer.

Doubt that would have worked since he changed the HD and did a clean
install.

From the op:
I just copied my Windows XP Pro install from a smaller to a larger HD.

I don't see anything about a clean install.

Success depends a lot upon what methodology you used to copy it!
