I'm upgrading from windows 98se to Xp home. When I get to the "Installing
Windows" point in the installation, my computer freezes up durin the
"Installing Devices" phase. This happens every time I try. I've got a AMD k-6
450mhz processor and 256mb of Ram. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Even if you do overcome the installation problem you are likely to be
quite disappointed in the performance of Windows XP on this hardware.
It will be quite noticeably slower than your Windows 98 SE.

If you could increase the RAM to 512 mb then this would go a long way
towards offsetting the effects of the slow processor speed.

Good luck
