Do a Google for "dual boot" to find answers.

Short answer is, it can be done, you'll get a prompt at
every boot to choose which system to boot into.

Why do you want to have W95?

Be VERY careful. If you install 95 over XP, things will go south very quickly. It is best done using a third part boot manager or (after backing up all your data) doing a clean install of Win95 and then installing XP over that

Well, Windows XP would not let you just install Windows 95 over it, it just
wouldn't work untless you delete the partition WinXP is on and then install
95 fresh. Unless you want to dual boot, but then you should Install 95
first, then install WinXP so it can find your previously installed version
of windows and give you the option not to overwrite it.

Incase anyone tries to lecture you about licensing, read the info at this
link before you make your own decision.

Windows XP crashed.
I am the Blue Screen of Death.
No one hears your screams.

Yesterday it worked.
Today it is not working.
Windows is like that

What kind of processor are you using? Windows 95 may not be able to handle a
processor that's too fast for it. I know I couldn't get it to work on mine and
I have a 2.6C GHz Pentium 4. I installed all the patches that are suppose to
allow Windows 95 handle a super fast processor but they didn't work. I later
read somewhere that Windows 95 won't run at all on a processor faster than 2.0
GHz.

Instead of Dual-Booting/Disk format, etc. Just download a 45-Day
trial of Microsoft Virtual PC. With it you can run additional O/S's in
an isolated way that doesn't affect your main operating system.

I've have 8 different O/S VPC's - Everything from Windows 1.1 up
to Windows 2000 and an instance of the Penguin.

The only requirement is a pretty large memory configuration. You can
run earlier OS's in a small footprint 64-128. However, NT, 2000 should
probably have 256 as a minimum.

You can load from a saved state in just a few seconds. If you make
changes that you do not want saved you just close the VPC without
committing changes to disk. It's a great tool for having older OS/s.

It's also possible to use Windows XP within XP - but you'll need a
second license.

It creates a virtual drive of up to 16 Gigabytes, but saved drives will
usually be much smaller. If you have 4 or more VPC's plan to allocate
at least 8-10 Gigabytes for storage.

See the following web-site for more info.

You will need to make a separate partition for it and either (better)
use an external Boot Manager (eg do the partitioning with Partition
Magic, and use the Boot Magic that comes with it), or you could then
use the method Doug Knox has at
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_repair_9x.htm

Note that unless it is a Win95 *OSR2* from late 1996 or later it will
have to have its partition made as a FAT 16 one, not FAT 32.

I would not use Win95 at all now - a dual boot with Win98 is a much
better bet (preferably the Second edition)
