Windows 2K Reinstall Problem

After malicious script ran on my PC I was unable to open Windows Explorer,
IE, and Control Panel. I was able to reconnect to the NET by downloading and
installing Firefox, but was unable to fix the explorer and control panel
errors.

I then attempted to reinstall Windows 2K using the CD and proceeded with
what seemed to be a normal installation. During the process however the
install failed to complete and is now caught in a loop during the install
when installing mouse and keyboard drivers. After several minutes the system
automatically reboots and returns to the same place. This loop continues
until I manually shut down the system. I have tried booting in the safe mode
but the system returns to the installation.

I do not have a working floppy drive on this system and am to the point now
to where I simply want to recover files from the hard drive. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Jesse

I would try put a boot dos diskette and fdisk the hard drive and then try
reinstall it.

hope this helps

Thanks Frank but I need an alternative to save my files on this PC. Once I
rescue important files from the hard drive then formatting the hard drive and
reinstalling windows will be the clear option.

Any other suggestions for recovery of the files and system are apprceciated.
