Hi All,

i am trying to put a server into the DMZ of my companies firewall.

once connected i can ping the machine from the machine using 127.0.0.1, but
if i use the ip address of the card 192.168.1.2 it gives me "destination
host unreachable" but if i plug ti back into the actual network it works
fine.

if anybody could help i would be grateful

The server should have an IP configuration in the same subnet as the DMZ.

Rob,

more info for you

the subnet of the DMZ is 192.168.1.0/24
the subnet of the internal network is 10.10.1.0/8
the card in the firewall for the DMZ is 192.168.1.1/24
the card in the server is 192.168.1.2/24

but if i put the server back in to my network with the internal network
addresses of 10.10.1.9 for example the card connection to the network works.
because the card works in the internal network but not in the DMZ i'm lost
as this would suggest that the netwrok card is ok? yes.

but while the server in configured and installed in the DMZ, it states that
there is no network connection.

thanks in advance
Simon
