Windows 2003 RIS Question

Ravi

Hi,

I could not find a better a group for my question. Please point me to
the correct one if this is a completely wrong place.

My question is:
1. I have a Windows 2003 RIS server and all my desktops are PXE
complaint. Now, when I PXE-boot my clients by pressing F12 BIOS option,
startrom.com loads and prompts me to press F12 for network boot
service. Is there any way to avoid pressing F12 again?

2. After pressing F12 again, I get a login screen where I need to enter
Administrator username and password. Can I bypass this screen?

Thanks for your time,
Ravi

I got a partial answer for my first question. Answer was to rename
startrom.n12 to startrom.com as mentioned here:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/...Windows/XP/all/reskit/en-us/prbc_cai_silp.asp

So, I tried copying
\\<servername>\remoteinstal\oschooser\i386\startrom.n12 as startrom.com
to
\\<servername>\remoteinstall\setup\english\images\winpe\i386\templates.
After this I restarted binl service. But no luck. On PXE-boot, I still
get the prompt to press F12 for Network boot service..!!??!!

Oops...I am supposed to rename
\\<servername>\remoteinstal\oschooser\i386\startrom.n12 to
\\<servername>\remoteinstal\oschooser\i386\startrom.com.
My setup is not asking for F12 now. :)

Anyone knows how can I solve my second problem?
