Windows 2003 need .net framework?

I wonder whether I should install .net framework 1.1 with service pack 1
into MS Windows 2003 Server?

My inquiries
Application using ASP.Net 1.1
- Will it run on MS Windows 2003 Server without install .net framework 1.1
- Any impact if I not .net framework 1.1 into MS Windows 2003 Server

Please advise.

You cannot run any .NET framework 1.1 application(including ASP.NET pages)
on that server. That's all.
If you only need to host static pages or CGI pages, you need not install the
..NET framework components.

I surprise that my MS Windows 2003 Server running my ASP.Net 1.1 application
which I don't install .net framework 1.1.

I wonder why? Is MS Windows 2003 Server build-on .net framework 1.1?

Yes windows 2003 comes with framework 1.1
