I am having major problems with a computer that was given
to me. It had windows 2000 on it and I feel I need to re-
format and re-install the OS but I do not have any windows
cd's. What are my options, do I need to purchase a new
copy of Windows or can Microsoft ship me a new cd? I do
have a copy of windows 95 on cd, can that be upgraded as
an option? Thanks.

1st, talk to the person who gave you the computer to get the CD

2nd, IF you have the license document AND this was retail Win2k
and not an OEM version, you may call MS... if it was an OEM
version you will have to call the computer vendor
