I check the cpu usage because applications take 5 min to
open, and a file called UMonit2K.exe is using like 97 to
99 percent of the CPU. What could the problem be.

do you have updated Virus protection program running to scan your system as the amount of cpu usage indicates you have been infected or you somehow are running a loop program.
