Is there any good reason to upgrade from Win2000 to windows XP?
I've never used windows XP. What would be the benefit of upgrading
from 2000 to XP? Is Windows XP fast or consuming less memory?
What is the good about XP over 2000?
All a matter of preference I guess. Some will say XP is great & they
have no problems, than there are those that have a million problems.
Especially with the latest SP2 update & microsofts attempt at security
enhancement. Microsoft? Security enhancements? Ooooooooookay?
I've been using Win2k for years and like any new OS it takes a bit to
catch up with the rest of the world with software & hardware, I'd say 2K
is at it's most "rock" solid at the moment(it took a while but it caught
up, as XP might some day). You can basically still find all drivers and
all software compatibility, and I've used & installed lots on win2k, is
still very stable.
Me personally, I will not use XP until 2k is completely phased out by MS
or software/hardware peoples start giving up on it. I have tested WinXP,
both SP1, & 2 with the same type of environment on my Win2K and XP
failed with a helluva lot more probs than 2k, can I state specifically
what happened? No, I can't & won't, what matters is that "I" was not
confident in the system handling what I wanted it to.
So as I said I guess it's a matter of preference, but some will also say
XP is more geared for media type stuff....Ex: smart cards, blah,
blah....I've yet to really test this type of environment yet as I don't
own digital camera equipment yet. Who knows 2k may fail at this
eventually but at the moment I doubt it.....
