Windows 2000 server reboots about every hour

For 4 months now the Windows 2000 server in my network(a Point Of Sale
network with only PC's not connected to the internet) has been rebooting
every 60-61 minutes continuously. I just reformatted the drive and
reinstalled Windows 2000 server and it is still doing the same thing.

Any ideas?

If you wiped (a full wipe) and reinstalled 2000 server and left the POS
software off, and the system is still rebooting, then you have a
hardware problem - I would start with a dirty fan, then a bad PSU, then
a bad UPS, then down the line.

If the timing of the problem is that consistent, then there may be something
causing the restart. During non-production time, boot the server to Safe
Mode and let it run. If it restarts there, then the problem is likely
hardware. However, if the server does not restart as before, boot to Safe
Mode with Networking and do the same. Is the server in a domain or
workgroup?

Are these restarts noted as being unexpected in the System event log? Are
any other errors noted?
