Windows 2000 Server connectivity on Vista

I'm the administrator of a small network with an NT-4 domain server and
Win2K file server for a SQL db.

I'm adding the first Vista machine to the domain. Since the machine will be
mine, I need to set it up to closely match my existing XP machine.
My XP machine has Win 2K Server applications (Enterprise manager and Query
Analyzer) setup so I can run some of the administrative functions from my
workstation rather than the server.

When I tried to setup the applications via the Windows 2000 Server CD, Vista
refused to let it run saying it was an older system (no kidding). I tried
to run the CD, via the compatibility wizard, in Windows 2000 mode. This
also fails due to "compatibility issues".

Is there any way to setup Enterprise manager and Query Analyzer on a Vista
Business machine?

You might post how you accomplished it for someone else who might be looking
to resolve the same issue.
