I have a home system running Windows 2000 Professional. A
few days ago I defragmented my hard disk for the first
time since I built the system. Now, about once a day
(three times since the defrag), my system will just reboot
on its own for seemingly no apparent reason. Can anyone
help?

Hello,

This probably happens because of a blue screen, and your computer is
configured to restart on system failure. Right click on "My Computer", click
Properties, and then click on the Advanced tab. Click on the button for
Startup & Recovery. From there you should be able to change this behavior.

This will however not fix your problem. Please have a look in Event Viewer
for error messages. You should have a notification about this. If you cannot
understand the message, please post back to this newsgroup, and hopefully,
someone can help you.
