Windows 2000 re-starts

I am having trouble with win2000 Pro. for some time now win2000 would just
shut down and restart without reason or cause. Sometimes it would go into
the blue screen of death and it would take me a couple of tries before I
could get win2000 back up and reunning. Then again without notice it would
re-start again sometime two or three time a day. Help Me Please.

Run Checkdisk on your system and any data volumes in use at the time(s)...
be sure to check the "fix file system errors" and "recover bad sectors"
checkboxes.

If a drive is failing, replace it.
If not, some additional stuff to try:

Update you AV software and definitions and run a full scan.

Run an online virus scan:
