windows 2000 professional booting problem

hello everybody,
win2000 pro doesn't boot completely.
it starts booting and checks the admin username and
password and then DOS is started.(it doesn't reach desktop)
booting stops there and message displayed is
a "format" command something like that.
what to do for win2000 to boot completely.
please help me.

try to log in to safe mode
by pressing F8 when you see the windows booting progress bar
after BIOS check up
then choose safe mode
then check the Start Up menu in the start menu to see
what is this command session do
or check the device manger for any conflict devices
