Windows 2000 Problems

Hi,

I just installed windows 2000 on my computer as i have had nothing but
problems out of windows xp professional and have had a series of problems:-

Windows Crashing
Poor Performance
Driver Problems
Programs Not Responding and Crashing
IE Crashing Constantly

Now i was requmended to insatall service packs but am unsure if i should as
i have had problems with performance after installing service packs in the
past can someone help me?

Sound like you have some other problem, e.g. memory, HD, psu etc
Run an extensive memory test, http://www.memtest.org/
Determine the manu of your HD, visit their site, download and use their
checking utility.
PS changing/updating software rarely cures a problem, unless you know
specifically its software related.
Service Packs are required to cure critical vulnerability.
Installing drivers other than manu drivers causes problems, ie do NOT use
winupdate drivers
