Hi,

Does anyone know which is the cheapest method to perform an Windows 2000 Professional upgrade to Windows XP?

Can be used Windows XP Home Upgrade license?

Thank you,

Chris P.

If you're upgrading from 2000 pro to XP, it has to be Pro.

You cannot upgrade with XP Home, but its been reported that it will accept a
Win2K CD as proof of eligibility for a clean install. Again, I stress
"reported". I have not verified this.

You need the XP Pro UPgrade CD. The licenses and keys go with the CD
so a 'Home license only works with a Home CD. You cannot upgrade to
Home, as this leaves out some facilities a user of 2000 would expect;
and a Home CD would not include these facilities anyway, so would not
give you Pro if you clean installed.
